What was the inspiration behind Yomp?
We realized there weren’t many safe, non-toxic alternatives to typical plastic chew toys, so we set out to create something we’d feel confident giving to our own dogs. That’s how the brand started!
How does your brand differ from other industry brands in the same category? What gives you the competitive edge?
We make toys that are not only safe for our dogs but also safe for the planet. Unlike other brands, plastics are not part of our process, so we don’t contribute to ocean contamination. This commitment to both pet health and environmental responsibility really sets us apart in the industry."
Describe the ingredients you look for in the products you use.
Non-toxic materials are our #1 priority. We wouldn’t feel right making something for a dog that we wouldn’t let our own babies chew on. That’s why our toys are made from sustainably sourced, non-toxic materials like silicone, natural rubber, and plant-based products. Safety and sustainability are at the heart of everything we create.

Walk us through your development process — from ideation to the product we see on the shelf.
The journey starts at home with our own dogs. We observe their playing habits and ask ourselves, "How can we meet their needs in a way that aligns with our values?" Puppies, in particular, have a natural desire to chew, so we focus on providing a safe and fulfilling way for them to explore that need. We have our very own advisory board of pups who test out our newest toys, ensuring they meet the highest standards of playtime before they reach the shelf.
What are some things you take into consideration during the creation of new products?
We take into account natural dog behaviors, including how they chew, play, and interact with toys. We also make sure we meet these needs while adhering to our own rigorous quality and safety standards. It’s all about creating products that are both enjoyable for dogs and aligned with our commitment to safety.
Other than Yomp, what is something you are passionate about?
Outside of my company, I'm passionate about fitness. I was a former Olympic hopeful in swimming and still stay active through cycling, swimming, skiing, and other sports. I recently had the incredible experience of attending the Olympics in Paris to cheer on Team USA!
What is one major lesson you learned about running a business?
One big lesson I’ve learned about running a business is how crucial it is to stay adaptable. Being able to pivot when things change or when new challenges pop up has really helped us keep moving forward and better meet our customers' needs.
What are some challenges you have overcome with Yomp?
One challenge we've faced is finding the right balance between durability and safety in our products. We wanted to ensure our toys are tough enough for enthusiastic chewers but also completely non-toxic and safe. To address this, we launched our new MAX line of super-durable toys made from natural rubber. By testing with our own advisory board of pups and continuously refining our materials and designs, we’ve managed to create products that meet our high standards.
What would you say is your most effective marketing channel?
Social media has been a fantastic space for us to build a community. Most of our customers find us through friends or family, and social media has allowed us to connect with even more people and invite them into our family. It’s been a key channel for us and continues to be a great way to engage and grow our community.

Give us the backstory of your brand’s name.
"Yomp" is all about fun and energy—just like our brand. It’s a British word for a quick, lively walk, which fits perfectly with the adventures you and your dog love. Plus, it’s a playful nod to “chomp,” because who doesn’t love a good chew toy? Our name sums up everything we stand for: happy, active dogs having a blast!
What would you like to see for Yomp's future?
I’d love to see our company continue to grow while staying true to our core values of safety, sustainability, and innovation. I envision expanding our product lines to offer even more options for pet parents and furthering our commitment to making a positive impact on both pets and the planet. Ultimately, I hope to see us become a leading name in pet products, known for our dedication to quality and our supportive community.
What do you think is the most prominent concern in the pet industry?
Pet owners are becoming increasingly conscious of what they provide for their pets, from food to toys. There's a growing demand for higher standards and transparency in pet products, as more people seek out items that are not only safe but also align with their values. We aim to be the best option for these discerning pet parents by delivering top-quality, trustworthy products that meet their high standards.
